Hi. I'm Mike Watson and I'm running for City Council for Lafayette, Colorado.

Hi neighbor, thanks for checking out my campaign.

I'm just stepping out into politics for the first time because, well, I guess because I feel like we have to. I look up through the rank and file of government and I don't see a system that represents me, nor one that feels like it has my best interest at heart. I've talked with a lot of people around the country over the past few years, and I think my sentiment is pretty widely shared. I'm doing this, trying to figure out how to break into politics, because it's needed.

About Me

I'm a husband, father, U.S. Navy Veteran, computer scientist, and a 10-year Lafayette resident.

My professional experience includes emergency medicine, hospice care, disaster response, and computer programming.

I regularly complain about the political system we're under, but I know from experience that it can be far worse.

I'm an independent, but not a moderate, because I believe that the path forward is more nuanced than red vs blue.

The number one issue facing America is our partisan divide. All things are solvable if we can talk with each other.

As a politician, my goal will always be to represent and unite. Democracy breaks down when our elected officials become our rulers.
